Where are you going to get advice
It's important for the health of your business to take advice from the right people.
In this day and age it’s really hard to know who are the real experts anymore as everyone with a social media presence is an ‘expert’ or so they would like you to believe.
Be wary of those influencers / experts etc on Instagram, facebook, youtube, etc etc. (disclaimer – there are real experts to be found there)
Many of the so-called experts are not what they report to be, they have just hit on a marketing ‘formula’ to gain followers and boost their own income. Often many have no more than a couple of years real-world experience and in some cases none whatsoever. They will often be taking content from other reputable sources and passing it off as their own.
How to know
Sorry to say it but there is no real way to know what is good advice for you and what is not, as everyone has different needs.
The best advice I can provide is dabble, try out, experiment, but don’t invest heavily. Talk to someone you personally trust, and don’t make really big decisions until you are absolutely sure.
The most sensible thing I can say is – don’t go to an accountant for your marketing, don’t ask your web developer to be a sales coach. Just like you, no one is an expert in everything. Hunt for the ‘fountain of all knowledge’ in the respective area of your need.
